On 9 May 2025, Cambodia’s Department of Freshwater Wetland Conservation of the General Department of Nature Protected Areas organised a school event to raise awareness on the importance of caring for the habitats for migratory birds.
Held at Hun Sen High School, Koh Andet, Koh Andet District, Takeo Province, the event was led by His Excellency Sokheng Novin, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Environment; and His Excellency Ngin Nginda, Deputy Governor of Takeo Provincial Government. Approximately 250 students participated in the event, along with representatives from the different departments of Takeo Province, Koh Anthet District Administration, partner organisations, local authorities, and teachers.
Activities during the event included tree-planting at the school campus and handing out of school supplies to the teachers and students.
