On the 22nd of May each year, the whole world celebrates the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB). Led by the secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, IDB celebrations have carried different themes, highlighting the need for a whole-of-society approach to addressing biodiversity challenges.
With the theme Be part of the Plan, this year’s celebration of IDB invites everyone to support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, also known as the Biodiversity Plan.
In celebration of the IDB, the ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity organise various capacity building and awareness raising events to promote biodiversity appreciation and conservation in the region.
